Radishes

Just a little FYI...

So, I have discussed that I am gaining weight, while eating better... my medications are causing me to pack on the pounds, bummer!

Gaining weight while eating healthier is tough on the ego, but... I do not keep as active as I need to, still wanting to go to the local YMCA, but it is pretty pricey and I need to kick this fatigue's ass!

Back to my main point... I am been loving radishes and eating them like mad! They are cheap and fill me up. They have a low glycemic index, lots of fiber and low calories.

I also love that they are spicy, I can feel my numb mouth when I eat spicy foods and this is why I also love the radishes as a healthy snack option.  Never thought I would have "blogged" about radishes!

You already know I am nuts, but I am glad I found spicy and crunchy healthy snack to munch on at work!

I love bread!

So... when I went to the hospital for my hyper extended pinkie finger, I was telling the nurse that I am unhappy with the weight I am gaining.  I have cut out soda, except for a Diet Pepsi every once and a while, no alcohol, no fast food, NO COFFEE... I try to make my food at home; my down falls are now loving hot wings and bread. The nurse has a dietician come in to talk to me, I was so embarrassed, not only did I fall on a box and hurt myself, but now a professional is here to talk to me about being fat!

Here is what when down... I can have little to NO bread... OUCH! I can drink only water, tea and the occasional glass of red wine, can have all the fruit and veggies I want, little to none dairy and VIGOROUS exercise for 30 minutes a day... OK, OK, I know all of this, but hearing it from a professional just really hurt! I miss the day when I could eat anything and be cute and thin! Life is not fair, PJ eats snacks every night, goes for cupcakes after 8PM, but gives up beer; he loses over 20 pounds like that! I am winey, I love my bread... but I can do this, I do not want to be the brain damaged fat 39 year old; I want to be the recovering brain damaged 39 year old!

I am writing about my look on life, so my health and weight are a big part of my life, so I am ready for this challenge!

Tired of being a Chunky Monkey!

I have struggled with weight most of my life... it sucks, I see so many women that can eat whatever they want and are a size 10 or less, me, I look at a cookie and I gain a pound.  I have gained more weight since my stroke, I know that I use the excuse that the Citalopram has me gaining weight, which it may be the case, but I am not exercising! I am not eating fast food and sweets, no sweets at my desk, but I now eat meat... it must be the lack of exercise.  PJ got me a 3 month free certificate for Curves, have I went... NO, I find Curves boring... he also said we can sign up for the Y, but has not done this yet, I love to swim and I am hoping for this membership, they have a play room for Eloise too!

I recently saw photos of me taking at a training in Columbus, I looked like a hippo, I actually cried... so I am taking action!  I will take the stairs at work and walk at lunch... I have bought fresh food in the fridge to make dinner, not going out... and I need to go check out Curves, maybe we can join the Y after I try Curves, I am just so down on myself with this weight gain, I feel and look horrible and can't go on like this!

Today, I have already taken the stairs twice, had cantaloupe for breakfast and have drank 24 ounces of water... it is a start!
